- Parma Violets are arguably the most controversial Retro Sweets going. These violet flavoured fizzing treats have a firm place in our hearts – but what about yours? Just like marmite Parma Violets are one of those foods you either love with real enthusiasim or Hate with a very strong passion! Made by Swizzels, Parma Violets are small scented violet sweets that we think taste a bit like pot pourri. Fabulously coloured, take your chance with these mystical sweets and it will soon become apparent whether you're a lover or a hater. One to be tried at least once in a lifetime!
- Another controversial option is Liquorice. From old school Bassetti to bright and colourful Liquorice Allsorts, this is one of the oldest treats around and despite many people not being a fan, it’s successfully survived the test of time. Alongside Aniseed, these traditional Retro Sweets may be an acquired taste, but we are firm believers that you’ve got to try it to believe it – you may even find a new favourite sweet treat.
- Finally on our list of controversial delights are Toxic Waste. Toxic Waste is one of the most sour sweets we have come across to date. A mini plastic barrel crammed full of individually wrapped dangerously sour sweets that will certianly make you screw up your eyes. A must for the sour sweet lover; but be careful they aren't called TOXIC for nothing!
- Another traditional classic are Floral Gums. These are a love them or hate them kind of sweet, but you know what they say – you don’t know until you try! If you’re looking for something delicious and delicate to eat, you’ll love these lightly floral-tasting mini gums. They are possibly the most ladylike sweet you can buy, so pop your hand in the bag, put you pinky in the air and chew, chew, chew!!! Similar to these are Cherry Lips – another scented sweet that has an acquired taste but that we LOVE! Or why not try the more well know Parma Violets for the ultimate taste test?
- Jelly brains - Add some sweet horror to your Halloween or simply scare your visitors all year around with our really scary jelly brain shaped sweets. Perfect for putting out for 'trick or treaters' or your own Halloween party this year! So sweet and squishy you'll believe you're actually eating jelly brains! Grossly yummy!! - Chocolate Limes are a weird sounding combination that actually work together like a dream. Zesty green lime wrapped around a smooth milk chocolate centre. - Funny Money Edible Paper is a kids classic that is perfect for kids parties (or adults a.k.a big kids!) dible rice paper like what you’d get in the ole days, but now decorated as Euro bank notes. - Ginger Creams are another traditional old school delight on our list of all time favourites. A crumbly creamy sweet with a hint of firey ginger. A true classic, perfect for warming you up on a cold winter's day, after a walk by the beach or in the country. A perfect example of a 'granny' sweet, this is definitely one she'd have in her handbag to offer you, don't you think!?
